Australia's networks — Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone AU — cover the populated coasts thoroughly, with fast 5G in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. The distinction that matters is the outback: Telstra covers far more of the interior than anyone else, which is why road-trippers care which network their eSIM uses.
For city breaks and the east-coast trail (Sydney–Byron–Cairns), any plan in the list works well. For the Red Centre, the Nullarbor, or remote Western Australia, prefer Telstra-based plans — and even then, expect long empty stretches with no signal on any network.

Which Australian network should my eSIM use?
Telstra if your route leaves the coastal cities — its regional and outback coverage is unmatched. For urban trips, Optus and Vodafone AU are equally good and often cheaper.
Will I have signal on outback drives?
